The National Chair of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, celebrated the 65th birthday of Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

In a congratulatory address he personally signed, Tinubu praised the role of VP while he (Osinbajo) served as Commissioner for justice and Attorney General during his time as Governor of Lagos State.

He also said Osinbajo’s active role as President Muhammad Buhari’s deputy was noteworthy.

“Vice Chancellor Professor Yemi Osinbajo turns 65 today and happy birthday.

“Prof. Osinbajo’s active role as Vice President Muhammad Buhari and his effective work as Commissioner for justice and Attorney General of Lagos State during my time as Governor are both noteworthy.” Tinub said.

Tinubu said that the Almighty God give Osinbajo who has a good legal mind, his wife and children health, peace and prosperity.

“May Almighty God protect and preserve them all as they watch over the lives of Nigerians wherever they are in the world,” he said.

Tinubu has announced his intention to run for president in 2023, but Osinbajo is rumored to be interested in challenging his former boss for the sole ticket to his APC.

Babachir Lawal, Dogara:
Those who criticize me wanted to be my running mate – Tinubu

The All progressive Congress, APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu accused those who criticized him for choosing Kasim Shetima as his vice-presidential nominee for putting him in the same position they wanted.

The APC candidate said his close friends were among those who criticized him for choosing Shettima as his vice-presidential candidate, but he rejected them.

He made this clear during an interactive session with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Abuja, chaired by Archbishop Daniel Ukoh.

Babachir Lawal, a former federal secretary and close ally of Tinubu, denounced the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Lawal described the decision to set up Muslim-Muslim tickets as a “catastrophic mistake”.

Also, former House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara, urged Christians to vote against his APC after Tinubu decided to settle with the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Some other Nigerians accused the APC standard-bearers of plotting to Islamize Nigeria.

Speaking at the session, Tinubu dismissed claims of Islamization in some circles.

The APC presidential candidate also dismissed claims he was trying to suppress Christians in his vice presidential nominee.

He said: “People reacted harshly to my choice. They were my friends, they wanted to stand up for me and run for vice president. I declined.

“The rumors that this is a conspiracy to suppress the Christian community are untrue and regrettable. I have no such agenda.

“You cannot suppress Christians in this country. You cannot suppress Christians in your home or family. You cannot Islamize Nigeria.”
