Peter Obi reacts to murder of Labor leader in Kaduna

Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has reacted to the murder of the party’s female leader, Victoria Chintex, by an assassination suspect in kaura, Kaduna state.

Obi says Nigerians should not tolerate “waste of human life”.

Chintex was killed Monday, November 28, 2022 by gunmen who reportedly stormed her home and shot her dead while her husband sustained a gunshot wound in his leg. .

In response to her murder, Obi, who sympathized with the family of the deceased, said in a series of tweets on Tuesday that the female leader’s death was a huge loss for the Labor Party.

He said that if elected, he would prioritize the war against insecurity, adding that Nigerians “must not allow human life to be wasted in any way”.

“I am shocked by the senseless killing of Lady Victoria Chintex, Labor Party leader of kaura, Kaduna State, by an unidentified gunman. Her death is a great loss to her immediate family, relatives and the Labor Party. She lives on in our hearts.

“The assassination at the hands of gunmen and terrorists and the loss of so many innocent lives across the country is why I must prioritize fighting insecurity as my first duty in public service. We must not allow lives to be wasted in any way in Nigeria.

“Please pray for the repose of the soul of your late wife. Rest in peace Victoria Chintex. He sends his deepest condolences to her family,” the presidential candidate tweeted.

State police have yet to comment on the incident.
