Sheriff Consoles Stray Bullet Victim's Family

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori who commiserated with the family on the unfortunate demise of Ivan, vowed that all efforts would be made to bring the culprits to justice. 

Governor Sheriff disclosed that the Police were already investigating the matter and would brief the general public at the end of the investigation.

He commended the medical personnel at the hospital for their pro-activenessin treating the younger sibling assuring that the State Government would pay for all medical expenses related to the incident.

Briefing the Governor, Head of the Ophthalmology Department, Federal Medical Center Asaba, Dr. Ernest Ogbedo said Eromonsele’s affected eye has been successfully operated upon and it is being covered to prevent infections from entering, adding that further surgeries would be carried out on the affected eye.

He said an x-ray was earlier carried out before the treatment of the baby affirming that no bullet pellets were seen.

Also speaking, Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Wale Abass assured the Governor and the family of the command’s commitment to ensuring a thorough investigation into the matter.

A visit to the scene of the ugly incident revealed,  how a bullet fired by an NDLEA officer pierced through a shop to hit the boy who was said to be returning from school last week Thursday.
