President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the Olu of Warri, all chiefs of the kingdom, family and friends of the Rone family, over the passage of Chief S.S Rone, Ogienoyibo, the Obazuaye of Warri and longest-serving chief.

In a statement signed by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, to Buhari, he appreciated the grace of God on the departed, which according to him, saw Ogienoyibo Rone serve four monarchs as a high-ranking chief and helping to maintain peace, amity and development in Warri and environs.

President Buhari commended the life of service lived by Chief Rone to the younger generation and urged his family and children to ensure that his good works are preserved and his memories evergreen

Chief Rone, who died Monday, aged 86, left behind a worthy reputation, which will remain inspiring, according to Buhari.

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-political organization, over the passing of its President-General, Professor George Obiozor.

Buhari extended his heartfelt condolences to Obiozor’s family, the government and the people of Imo State as well as Ndigbo, at home and in the Diaspora.

The statement reads: “President Buhari trusts that all who mourn the demise of the statesman, who commanded great respect among his peers in the academia and foreign policy arena, will honour his memory by actively embracing his beliefs and ideas geared towards uniting Nigeria beyond geo-political considerations.

The President has fond memories of meeting Prof. Obiozor on several occasions, and values his endearing sense of patriotism

He joined the Igbo nation in mourning the irreparable loss of this great son of Nigeria, even as he prays for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased.

Obiozor, who had battled with heart-related disease, died on December 26, 2022
