2023 Election: Peter Obi told to withdraw

Ex-presidential aspirant of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has asked Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, to step down from the 2023 Election.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Garba’s comment comes following Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo’s revelation on Thursday that purported investments in office by Obi, one of his predecessors, are “worth next to nothing”.

Obi had said his $20 million investment for Anambra State is worth $100 million.

“I think there was something I read about somebody speculating about whatever investment. With what I’ve seen today, the value of those investments is worth next to nothing,” Soludo said during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday evening.

Reacting, Garba wrote on his verified Twitter handle: “Peter Obi’s lies is [sic] further exposed by Governor of Obi’s “heavenly” Anambra state, Chukwuma Soludo.

“Soludo says Peter Obi beer factory investment is next to nothing and might not be in existence.

“Peter Obi should withdraw from this contest and profusely apologize to Nigerians.”

2023 Election: Nigeria in safe hands with Tinubu – Aisha Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha, has assured Nigerians of the presidency of the All Progressives Congress, APC, flag bearer, Bola Tinubu.

Aisha Buhari assured that Nigeria would be safe under Tinubu’s guidance.

She spoke at the one-day public symposium with the theme: “Dissecting the Asiwaju manifesto – Renewed Hope 2023” in Abuja.

The First Lady was represented at the event by Asabe Bashir, the Matron of the APC Women Campaign Team.

She said Tinubu’s antecedents have shown that he would serve Nigeria well.

Mrs Buhari urged Tinubu to consider women in the area of national security.

According to Aisha: “I have gone through the manifesto of our presidential candidate and have no doubt that given his experience in governance and passion to make a positive impact in our national development, we would be in safe hands.

“I would suggest that every idea and strategy for national security must factor in women.

“This is because the world has accepted the reality that women are agents of peace, growth and development.”

Mixed reactions have continued to trail Tinubu’s emergence as APC flag bearer in the 2023 election.
